Just across the Leimert Bridge, off Park Boulevard, The Oakmore District is a lovely residential community winding up the hills toward Montclair. Designed as a “modern model community” in 1926, Oakmore features beautiful, classic homes in a variety of architectural styles: Tudor, Mediterranean, Arts & Crafts and Craftsman homes from the 1920’s and 30’s, as well as traditional styles from the 40’s and 50’s.

Oakland's Oakmore Neighborhood

Dotting the hillside, many of these homes have lovely canyon outlooks and San Francisco Bay views. Although Oakmore has all the serenity of a bedroom community, the charming shops and eateries of Glenview and the bustling Montclair shopping district are only minutes away…as well as Rocky’s Market in Oakmore on Leimert Bd.

The Oakmore Homes Association,  is a very active group with a rich history of preserving the character of the neighborhood and advocating on its behalf with the city of Oakland.

A nearby treasure is the majestic parklands of Joaquin Miller, Roberts and Redwood Regional Parks, for hiking, picnics and all kinds of recreational activities. See the East Bay Regional Park District for more information.

Oakmore is served by both Joaquin Miller and Glenview Elementary Schools.  You can see the school borders using the Oakland Unified School District’s school border maps.
